Raymond Van Dyke has been an intellectual and technology attorney and consultant for 27 years, specializing in IP procurement, prosecution, IP portfolio building and management, licensing, legislative advocacy and expert witnessing.  

He is licensed to practice law in Washington, DC, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and the Patent & Trademark Office of the United States.  He is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Court of Appeals for the Federal, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Circuits, as well as the Federal Court of Claims and the Court of International Trade.  He is also sworn into various lower courts, such as the District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of NY, District of NJ, District of Maryland and the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of Texas. 

Ray is the Greater Washington, DC & Northern Virginia Chapter Chair for the Licensing Executives Society, Chair of the Intellectual Property Section for the Montgomery County Bar Association, and active in numerous other organizations, both legal and technical, including ABA, AIPLA, IPO, IEEE, ACM and others. 

Ray has served as a delegate to the United Nations, WIPO Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore.  He teaches at Southern Methodist University, has taught at the University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Tech University and American University’s Washington College of Law, and served as a visiting professor at the University of Strasbourg, European Intellectual Property Institutes Network, Centre d’Etudes Internationales de la Propriete Industrielle (CEIPI).  He has also taught at Peking University Law School in Beijing as well as many other universities in China and elsewhere throughout the world.  He is the winner of the 2011 Patent Buddy Award for Excellence in Patent Prosecution.   He loves Science and Technology, learning about new innovations, and helping clients through the patent process and helping them grow their companies through use of IP.  A frequent speaker and conference coordinator, Ray also tries to build awareness of the benefits of a patent system to the U.S. and the world.
